Ingredients

For the drink

  • 1 1/2 Ounce apple- and cinnamon-infused Karlsson’s Gold Vodka
  • 3/4 Ounces John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum
  • 1/2 Ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Ounce apple cider
  • 1 dash Bar Keep Baked Apple Bitters

For the vodka

  • 1 bottle Karlsson’s Gold Vodka
  • 3 - 4 crisp apples (such as Pink Lady or Honeycrisp), cored and sliced
  • 6 whole cinnamon sticks

RumChata, a sweet and creamy liqueur, mixes well with the apple flavors of Crown Royal apple whisky. This sweet and spicy drink will remind you of the fall apple harvest with smooth apple and cinnamon flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Apple Crown Royal
  • ½ ounce RumChata
  • ½ ounce cinnamon-flavored whiskey
  • ½ ounce whipped cream flavored vodka
  • Ice
  • Ground cinnamon for garnish
  • Mint sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the Crown Royal, RumChata, cinnamon whiskey, and whipped cream vodka. Shake until well combined.
  2. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with the cinnamon and a sprig of mint, if desired.

Orchard Boulevardier

The classic Boulevardier—made Negroni-style with Campari, sweet vermouth, and whiskey—is one of our autumn go-to drinks. Adding hot cider gives you an extra layer of warming comfort. This drink recipe serves two, but we wouldn't blame you for going through a few mugs of it while curled up next to a crackling fire.


Washington Apple

The Washington apple has delighted drinkers for a few decades. It's made with Crown Royal Canadian Whisky, sour apple schnapps, and cranberry juice. Serve it up or on the rocks for a casual cocktail or mix up a round of shots for a party.


Although the name is a throwback to the original modesty patch, there's nothing bashful about this powerful mix of bourbon, fig syrup, lemon juice, beet and carrot shrub, and bitters. We know alcohol preferences are totally subjective, but for us, this was one of the strongest non-smoky menu options.

Earth -- which tastes fittingly earthy -- brings together an interesting blend of amaro, vermouth, sherry, beet and carrot shrub, and bitters. As the story goes, God only spent six days making Earth, but we sort of wish he had used the seventh to add some sweetness.


Cider Crate Tasting Notes:

Smell: Strong aroma of juicy fresh strawberries. A sweet, slightly earthy apple base.
Initial Taste: Medium bite from acidity, mild carbonation. Quick burst of sweet, juicy strawberries with some tangy apples, slightly caramelized in nature. Some earthiness. Banana, lemon and honey notes.
After Taste: Strawberry remains strong but apple flavour becomes more present. Mild acidity and mustiness. Sweet, refreshing finish.
On ice: Carbonation cut. Smoother with a bit less flavour.

Additional Notes: A juicy offering, the Eden’s Apple Strawberry adds a fresh strawberry flavour to their original Eden’s Apple semi-sweet cider but it is not sugary or gritty. Rather creamy, it almost melts in the mouth. Defined by a tangy, thicker, and fresh, almost milky mouth feel, you could easily find yourself having it in place of strawberry shortcake. Very full bodied and full flavoured.

Why this cocktail is more than just gorgeous

The appletini smacks of its Hollywood roots.

It’s sweet, with a bit of tartness, and vibrantly flavored just like the classic Cosmopolitan Cocktail. It was invented back in 1996 in a West Hollywood restaurant where the bartender originally tried to get the name “Adam’s Apple Martini” to stick… it didn’t.

Since then, the Appletini has gone on to be the cocktail of choice for TV characters like Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother, Dr. Dorian from Scrubs, and Alan Harper from Two and a Half Men. It is also the official cocktail of Facebook…

It’s a fun cocktail to serve for a night with the girls – it’s not too strong and the apple flavor is pleasant and not cloying. (A good apple vodka is definitely key here.)


Unique Expressions of Extraordinary Apples

Here at latitude 45 degrees and climate zone 3b, it feels like we are always the last to celebrate bloom, with the peak still 2 weeks away. Ben Applegate, our amazing orchardist, is deep in preparations, getting neem oil and beneficial nematodes ready. This orchard is our shared passion, and in our gratitude for all Ben has done to lead our regenerative management program we named this special cider Benjamin for him.

The apples are 100% from our Eden Orchards, and the cider is sponteneously fermented and bottled during primary to create it’s own bubbles. The 2020 harvest was very low yield, but intensely flavored due to dry hot weather. We only had enough to produce 35 cases of Benjamin, but it fantastic – even juicier than the 2019. With notes of tangerine, granite and white roses, it pairs beautifully with anything from oysters to General Tso’s chicken! We released this to our cider club and there are just 10 cases left.

On ice: Carbonation cut. Smoother with a bit less flavour. More citrus notes.

Additional Notes: Eden’s Apple is indeed a semi-sweet cider but it is not sugary on the palate whatsoever. Rather creamy, it almost melts in the mouth. Defined by a tangy, thicker, caramelized apple flavour, it ends on a noticeable yeast-like flavour and sensation. Has a lot of unique character notes like banana and lemon. Very full bodied and full flavoured.
